Ear issues
So I had my little boy Cuan on 4 Dec 2014. As a parent does, you check them out from head to toe and check if a hair is out of place, he was perfect!
On Xmas day my sister freaked us out by saying his left ear is deformed! On closer inspection we saw that his left ear opening was so swollen you could just make out the opening. Xmas day - nothing we could do!
Next day we drive around and call every chemist that is open to try to get someone to see him until we can get him to our doc on Sat. No one will touch him coz he is so small and the emergency room would want to admit him.
Anyhoo, once we managed to get to the doc, doc prescribes meds for his ear, ointment for a gooey eye, nose spray and thrush ointment for his mouth. All seems to clear.
At his 6 week check up at the pead, the pead says, his ears are very infected and he prescribes an antibiotic.
At 10 weeks sister comes home sick from school and makes the entire family sick including little brother. Off to the doc we go again, this time bronchitis and another set of antibiotics and physio and suctioning as he was so bad!
Last week while playing wit the little man with a rattle and testing his eye movements I notice that there is no reaction on the right side when I shake the rattle. Mom into panic mode!
When dad arrives, he also agrees that something isn't quiet right. So I call around to find an ENT who will see my little man and the earliest I managed to get an appointment is this Thursday. Yip this week is dragging and mom is panicking!
I am trying not to panic but I cant help but think the worst.

Re: Ear issues
Did you have his hearing tested in the hospital when he was born? At Sandton Clinic they have an audiologist that comes around to conduct a hearing test. I can imagine how much you are panicking - hopefully he just has a wax build up or something minor.

Re: Ear issues
Aliweb yup had the lady come round and he passed with flying colors so we not sure what is going on now.
We had a terrible night with him again all blocked, stuffy and snotty. Cant wait for the ent tomorrow.

Re: Ear issues
sorry ladies thought I did an update.
Thankfully his ears look ok. He is on Flexonase (spelling) for a month and then we need to take him for hearing test but we can see a HUGE improvement already which is great.

Re: Ear issues
That's wonderful news! Glad there is nothing too serious wrong with him and I am sure there will be no problems with the hearing test.
