Hey TT - usually you do it by approaching one of the egg donor agency's. Main 3 in SA are nutute, baby2mom and gift ov life.

They do do all types of screening and fertility tests and if you are ok, then psychological assessment and counscelling. Even though the cut off age is advertised as 34 as a recipient I was encouraged to use someone younger than 30 (which you obviously are ) and also some who whas a proven donor (which you are as well).

I think that considering to donate your eggs is a noble and selfless act and ladies such as myself will forever be in your debt.

All the best with the process !

I am donating eggs next month to a couple in germany.

I legitimate agency would phone you once you applied online or if you can find one in durban it is better to go there yourself.

Once you have filled in everything and a couple has chosen you, you go for a vaginal scan to see that your ovaries and womb is in :"good working order"

they will then give a the"pill " to go on so that your monthly period is on par with your recipient.

Then comes the hormone injections that you would have to administer yourself but it is not that bad its about 6-8 injections.

in the meantime you go for another 2-3 scans so that they can monitor your eggs.

And finally your big day comes . They put you under as it hurts alot retrieve the eggs , you wake up and somebody would have to pick you up.

easy as that
and very fulfilling as well knowing you made a couple happy parents

Hi Judi,

I was just wondering how the retrieval went. Was is very painfull?
Please tell me as much as possible, I know someone that's interested in donating but she's very scared and I think she's heard some horrible stories too.
